Age verification on Tryst.link

Tryst.link is a platform by sex workers, for sex workers.

All providers on Tryst.link need to be verified before their profile can be published. This is a requirement our payment processor has for adult platforms.

To become verified, you must provide a valid government-issued ID. Your ID is reviewed by a member of the verification team. It is only used for the purpose of complying with our payment processor's requirements.

Our team handle this manually. We do not outsource verification to a computer or AI, or to any other companies or third-party services.

Your ID will be deleted from our systems once the verification process has been completed.

We know that sharing this sensitive information with us requires trust and we work hard to earn it. That's why we have detailed information below about how we secure your private data. Our support team are always available to answer any questions you have.

Why do you need to see my face and ID?

How do you keep my data safe?

What's needed to verify my age?

You will need to provide 3 clear and unedited photos:

  1. A selfie of you holding your ID.

Take a photo where you're holding your ID, with the photo side facing the camera. Make sure that the photo is clear and that we can clearly see that you are holding your ID document — your face, arm and hand should all be visible. Remember to take off any glasses or lenses for this photo unless you have a valid medical exemption.

Please do not edit this photo in any way. Don’t worry about whether the text is readable in this photo, or whether it's been flipped because you're using a mirror. We can flip the photo during the review process.

You must show at least your head, face, arm, hand and shoulders in this photo, and hold the ID relatively close to your face.

  2. A photo of the front of your ID:

Take a photo of the front of your ID (check out the next section for tips!), ensuring that we can read all the labels and text. This photo must be clear and all text must be clearly readable.

  3. A photo of the reverse of your ID:

Take a photo of the reverse of your ID (check out the next section for tips!), ensuring that we can read all the labels and text. This photo must be clear and all text must be clearly readable.

After uploading these photos, you will then be asked to confirm some details from your ID document and consent to it being verified by a member of our team. You’ll also have a space to provide any extra notes that you want to ensure our team are aware of while they are reviewing your documents.

Examples of acceptable photographs

Driver's and other licenses

  • The front of this type of ID is the side your photo appears on, usually along with your name, date of birth, and document details however the specifics can vary by region.

  • The reverse of this type of ID is the other side. In most cases there is no photo on the reverse but this isn’t always the case. It’s very common for additional information to be shown here, like a barcode or magnetic strip.

  • Passports

  • The front of this type of ID is the photo page. This is usually the first page inside the document when opened, but is sometimes a page or two in. When you take a photo, you need to show both the photo page and the facing page. That is, we should be able to see the whole open document.

  • The reverse of this type of ID is the cover of the passport, usually showing the country name and/or crest. Ensure your photo includes both the front and back covers —  with the photo page, we need to be able to see the entire document.

  • My ID doesn't look like those. How do I tell which side is the front or reverse?

If your ID doesn't look like the license or passport examples above, follow these guidelines.
    • The front of the ID should be the side that shows your photo. The photo must always show the full document, all the way to the edges. If this document is folded (either for stored or as part of the design), then unfold it before taking a photo.
    • The reverse of the ID should be the side immediately opposite the photo side. In the case of IDs shaped like a book or passport, this means the full cover of the document, both front and back.

What forms of ID are acceptable?

The most common forms of photo ID that we accept are:

    • Driver's license
    • Passport
    • Citizen/travel card

We know that there are a lot of forms of ID out there. If you don’t have any of the above, check if your ID meets the following requirements.

    • It must have been issued by a government body which we can clearly identify from the document. This can include state or federal government agencies. No private industry cards are acceptable.
    • We must be able to verify the card against acceptable standards.
    • The ID document must include a photo of you, an expiry date, your date of birth, and your name.
    • The ID document must be a physical document. We cannot accept digital IDs. In most cases, we also cannot accept any paper printed document other than a passport, including laminated paper cards or printed excerpts, even if they are legally acceptable in your jurisdiction.
    • The document must be the final document. We do not accept interim ID documents or excerpts.

In general, if your ID document can be used to prove your age when purchasing alcohol, we can probably accept it. However, make sure it meets the above requirements! If you're not sure, you are also welcome to reach out and ask about your specific ID document.
