If you’re a new provider logging in to Tryst.link from an IP address in Germany, you’ll need to verify that you’re 18 or older using a company called Yoti. This process is called third-party age verification and needs to be completed to comply with new laws introduced by some countries.
Soon, third-party age verification will also be required for new providers signing up from the UK, and then France.
If you’re in a country that requires third-party age verification, you’ll complete it in addition to other checks that are part of the sign-up process. For more information, check out How do I become verified.
What is third-party age verification, and what is Yoti?
Third-party age verification on Tryst.link means an independent company called Yoti works with us to confirm that you’re 18 or older. Yoti is a global digital identity company.
Yoti will check your ID using a mostly automated process. Yoti will delete your personal information 28 days after you complete third-party age verification.

Will I need to complete third-party age verification?
New providers signing up from Germany will need to verify their age via Yoti.
New providers signing up from the following countries will need to verify their age via Yoti in the near future:
- United Kingdom
- France
If you’re an existing user accessing Tryst.link from these countries, this change does not apply to you. However, if you need to reverify for some other reason—for example, if you lose access to your authenticator app, or you verified using a very old process—you may also need to complete third-party age verification.
What do I need so I can verify my age using Yoti?
You'll need your photo ID, a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera—like a smartphone, tablet, or PC with a webcam. On a mobile device, Yoti verification requires iOS 16 or Android 10, or newer. We recommend using a recent version of Edge, Chrome or Safari as your browser.
What forms of ID are acceptable for Yoti verification?
The most common forms of photo ID accepted by Yoti are:
- Driver's license
- Passport
- Citizen/travel card
The exact types of ID Yoti can accept will depend on your location. Check Yoti’s list of supported documents for more detail.
What does the Yoti verification process look like?
The Yoti verification process is performed via the Tryst.link website. Step-by-step instructions will guide you through the process.
First, Yoti will prompt you to take a photo of your ID. Once the photo of your ID is uploaded, Yoti will request a selfie. Next steps
Once you’ve completed your submissions, you’ll receive an email either confirming that your age has been verified, or asking you to change your photos and resubmit, outlining some possible reasons why your submission was not approved.
Once you’ve successfully completed both photo verification and age verification, as well as your profile, and your submissions have been reviewed and approved, you’ll be able to post your profile on Tryst.link.
