2-step login is one of the best ways to help keep hackers out of your Tryst.link your account. Here's a step-by-step guide for setting up an authenticator app.

“What is an Authenticator app?”

An authenticator app generates a unique code every 30 seconds. You use this unique code when logging in to your Tryst.link account. An authenticator app provides strong account protection - a hacker would have to get the code from you and use it within 30 seconds to access your account.

How to set up an authenticator app

When you create a provider account with Tryst.link, you'll be asked to set up 2-step login right away. You can also update your 2-step login methods by clicking the Manage 2-step login button on the Account page. You can access your Account page from the navigation menu at the top of your dashboard.

Once you’re on the 2-step login setup page, click the Set up authenticator app button to begin. Then follow these steps:

  1. Re-enter your password, if required.

  2. Install an authenticator app on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Some apps for mobile devices include:

  3. A QR code will appear on your Tryst.link setup screen. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (not your camera app!) or tap the code to automatically launch the authenticator app on your device.

⚠️ If you’re having trouble scanning the QR code, click the ‘I can’t scan the QR Code’ link that appears nearby to reveal a secret code or URL. Copy and paste either of these into your authenticator app, depending on which your app requests.

  4. Your authenticator app will now display a set of numbers. Return to the Tryst.link setup page and enter the numbers into the Authentication Token box.

  5. Click the Confirm setup button.

"What happens if I enter the wrong code?"

You have 5 chances to enter the login code from your authenticator app. After five failed attempts, you'll need to raise a new support ticket and our Access Team will assist you.
