How do you keep my data safe?

Tryst.link is a platform by and for sex workers, so we take your privacy and our data security very seriously. Our platform and policies are designed in ways that keep your data as private as possible.

We know that sharing your information with us requires trust, and we work hard to earn it.

Our commitment to you

We take our duty to the sex worker community seriously. We prioritise keeping Tryst.link secure, and keeping you informed and protected in every way we can. This means that:

  • We track and control who has access to your information. We make sure it’s only viewed when it needs to be, by as few people as possible.
    • Your information is verified by a member of our verification team. It is never outsourced to AI or other companies.
    • Our internal policies and processes are designed to minimise how much of your personal information our team sees.
  • We protect your information with secure technology. We encrypt your data, hold it on encrypted servers, require encrypted connections and multi-factor authentication to view it, and record all access to your data. We also host your data on servers in the European Union, to take advantage of the stronger privacy and human rights laws that apply there.
  • We delete your data as soon as we can.
    • We delete your ID as soon as we’re done with verification.
    • When you request deletion, we delete all your profile information, including photos. We’re required by law to keep financial records, so that’s all we’ll retain after your account is closed.
  • We have never and will never sell any of your data to third parties.
  • We are prepared for worst-case scenarios.
    • If we experience a data breach, we commit to notifying you as soon as we can.
    • We will only disclose information when legally obligated to do so. This means thoroughly, carefully verifying any legal requests to make sure they have a valid and verifiable subpoena, and are reasonable in scope.
    • We are built by and for sex workers. If we’re ever threatened with prosecution, we will never, ever consider exchanging user data to avoid being prosecuted.

We recognise the huge trust and responsibility you’ve placed in us by using Tryst.link, and we intend to be worthy of it.

How we protect your account

Tryst.link is set up to support sex workers however we can. We recognise how crucial your advertising accounts are to your brand and business, and want to make sure we have policies and tools which minimise unwanted access to your account.

For example, we require 2-step login to help ensure that you're the only person accessing your account.

What is 2-step login and why should I use it?

Policies and processes

We also protect your account with strong internal processes and policies. To prevent unnecessary internal (staff) access, we tightly control who has access to your sensitive information, and audit the access logs regularly and make sure that there are no unapproved actions.

To prevent unwanted external (public) access, we have processes to verify your ownership. For example, if you lose access to your account, our support team has a specific process to follow to verify that you are the legitimate account holder before access can be restored. We won't give access to anyone who contacts us asking about your account, but cannot verify that they own it.

We want you, and our support team, to be confident that your account is in your control.
