Your emergency recovery code is a single-use code that you can use to log in to your Tryst.link account in an emergency. If you’re unable to use your usual 2-step login method (such as authenticator app or security key/passkey), you’ll need this code to log into your account.
⚠️ It’s important to keep this code somewhere safe. Having the code written down on paper is a good idea, in case you lose or replace your smartphone, tablet, or computer. A common approach is to print it out or write it in a notebook. Store it with other important documents, such as your passport or birth certificate.
View your emergency recovery code
Your emergency recovery code will be provided to you whenever you set up a 2-step login method.
To view your code at other times:
- Log in to your Tryst.link account and head to the dashboard.
- From the dashboard, select Account from the navigation menu (at the top of the page).
- Once on the Account page, scroll down and click Manage 2-step login.
- Then Click View emergency recovery code.
- If asked, re-enter your password in the password field, then click Submit.
Your emergence recovery code will be displayed on-screen.
🚨Save and store your emergency recovery code (important!)🚨
Since your emergency recovery code is the only way to access your account if something goes wrong, it’s really important to keep it safe.
A common approach is to print it or write it in a notebook. Having the code available on paper is a good idea, in case you lose or replace your smartphone, table, or computer. Store it with your passport, birth certificate and other sensitive documents.
Saving this code on your phone, tablet, or other devices is risky as it could be stolen by others. If you do store it digitally, keep it in a secure or encrypted location. We recommend a password vault such as 1Password or Bitwarden.
⚠️ Never share this code with anybody - not even with someone who claims to be a representative of Tryst.link. Being asked to share this code is a common way that hackers and scammers might try to get access to your account.
How to use your code
You can use your emergency recovery code to log in if your other 2-step login methods aren’t working:
- When logging into your account, enter your email address and password as usual.
- When prompted for an authenticator app code or security key/passkey, click the link at the bottom of the page that says Authenticate using a recovery code instead.
- Enter your recovery code in the box that appears. Click Submit and you’ll be logged in to your account.
- You’ll be supplied with a new emergency recovery code to replace the one you’ve just used. Write this down or print it out and store it somewhere safe (such as with your passport, birth certificate, and other important documents).

You will be required to provide a new verification photo before we can help you recover access to your account.
⚠️ Only provider accounts can be recovered. We can’t recover access to client accounts as we cannot verify your ownership of the account.
