Contact detail validation on your profile

Why do we validate your contact details?

It’s important that potential clients are able to contact you when they come across your ad and decide to reach out! We use validation to make sure that your details are correct and no typos or other issues have made it through to your profile.

How do I validate my contact details?

Mobile number

When you add or change the phone number shown on your profile, you will be automatically prompted to validate it. You must complete validation before your number will appear on your profile.

If your number existed on your profile before we enabled contact validation, or you’ve validated it in the past but that validation is expiring, you can finish the process by clicking on the “Verify mobile” button.


  1. Check that the phone number shown is correct, then click “Send verification message.”
  2. Within a few moments you will receive an SMS from AuthMsg with a 6 digit code. Enter the code in the field shown and click “Confirm and verify.” If you don’t receive the code within 15 minutes, click “Didn’t receive your code?” to retry.
  3. You’re done! Your number is now validated and will appear on your profile within a few moments.

Email address

When you add or change the email address shown on your profile, you will be automatically prompted to validate it. You must complete validation before your email address will appear on your profile.

If your email existed on your profile before we enabled contact validation, you can finish the process by clicking on the “Verify email” button.


  1. Check that the email shown is correct, then click “Send verification message.”
  2. Within a few moments you will receive an email with a 6 digit code in it. Enter the code in the field shown and click “Confirm and verify.” If you don’t receive the code within 15 minutes, click “Didn’t receive your code?” to retry.
  3. You’re done! Your email is now validated and will appear on your profile within a few moments.
