Tour guidelines

Tours are a popular Tryst feature that allow you to show your profile in locations you will be visiting soon. To add tours to your profile, refer to this article:

Because tours impact search results, we have some simple rules around how they work to ensure they remain fair for all users. Got feedback on these rules or want to tell us about a scenario you think should be allowed?Ā Drop us a line! We'd love to hear from you.

Overlapping tours

In general, the system won't allow you to have tours that overlap because you can't be in two places at the same time! Of course, sometimes a little bit of overlap makes sense, so we allow a couple of special conditions.

  • Check out and check in dates are allowed to overlap, since you could leave one location and arrive in the new one on the same day while accepting bookings for that day in both locations. In the example below, you can see that we have a tour that leaves Philadelphia (red) on the 17th of May and arrives in Washington (blue) the same day, following by leaving Washington on the 24th and arriving in Pittsburgh (green).
  • Nearby locations, which we define as cities within about 100km/60mi of each other, can realistically be served on the same tour, either by clients coming to you or you travelling to clients. In the example below, a tour is entered for both New York (purple) and Newark (orange) over the same 8-24 July period.

Unconfirmed tours

We understand that many providers want to try out locations before paying travel costs! To ensure that our touring feature remains fair, we do ask that you limit this to only a few listings at a time and label them clearly. In the example below, we have listed the tour description as "taking booking enquires now!". Setting lots of unconfirmed tours can negatively impact those who are based in those locations or have already paid to travel there.

Why do we care about tour abuse?

We want every Tryst provider to be able to run their business as they see fit. We also want every Tryst provider to be able to succeed, and that means ensuring that the platform remains fair for everyone. Applying these rules allows us to provide flexibility without negative consequences for local providers.

Fly me to you

Tryst doesn't currently support FMTY, but it is definitely a feature request we are keeping an eye on. If you want to let us know that it's a priority for you,Ā drop us a lineĀ and let us know with the feedback/suggestion option!
