Generally, clients find your profile by searching for it. Your profile needs to be set up to be visible in specific searches, so they can find their way to you.
Visibility
There's a profile visibility overview on your dashboard, which shows you who can see your profile. For example, this image shows what you would see if your profile gender was set to female and you have selected all options in the caters to list.
For profiles that have added a trans status, this will also include whether or not you have enabled the appear exclusively in trans-only searches option on your profile. Enabling this option will mean that your profile only appears when potential clients are specifically searching for a trans provider.
For non-binary providers, instead of showing female or male, we will show your chosen gender presentation. There's more information about this at this link:
How to change your visibility
If this visibility information needs changing, it's usually because something on your profile isn't quite correct. These settings are accessible from the Edit Profile page.
- Gender: This is the gender you are working as. If you choose "female" here, you will appear in searches that select "female" on the gender filter.
-
Gender presentation: This option only appears for non-binary providers, to allow you to align yourself with the male or female gender filters in search. Selecting "feminine" will make your profile appear for searches that select "female", and "masculine" will make your profile appear for searches that select "male". If you present androgynously, reach out to the support team and we can set this up for you.
-
Caters to: This describes the types of clients you are happy to see. For example if you have "couples" selected for this option, then clients who use the "caters to" search option to find providers who are happy to see couples will see your listing in their search. Select all types of clients you are open to seeing.
- Trans status: When you mark yourself as trans, your profile will continue to appear in your chosen gender category. It will also appear when the "trans only" filter is applied to the search being performed.
-
Appear exclusively in trans-only searches: This option only appears for providers that mark themselves as trans. It will restrict your profile to only appearing in searches with the "trans only" filter selected, and you will no longer appear in searches alongside cis profiles.
Approved but not visible
There are two reasons your profile may be approved but not visible. You may choose to hide your profile, or you might not meet the minimum profile requirements to be visible in search.
Either way, we'll let you know that your profile isn't visible, and why.
