Unfortunately, many Internet providers and email providers filter your traffic and messages, and they're often very aggressive with content linked to the sex industry.
This can cause Tryst email or content not to reach your inbox. In some cases, your emails are being filtered into your Spam or Junk folder, and you can easily tell your email provider to stop doing it. In other cases, the filtering is beyond your control, and more difficult to avoid.
If you are still experiencing issues after following the directions below, we recommend using a private mail service, such as Proton Mail or Hushmail, for your Tryst account.
Are you trying to reset your password or confirm your email address? Make sure you are checking the email address you created your account with, which might not be the same email address you share on your profile.
If you want to change the email address you are using for Tryst, follow these steps:
Family-friendly filters
Many ISPs automatically apply a "family-friendly filter" or something similar to your connection. If you use an email address or servers they provide, this will apply to those. They may let you opt out of this filter, sometimes via their admin dashboard but more commonly via getting in touch with their support directly. You may have to give them a call to get this sorted.
On the other hand, many ISPs and email providers don't give you a way to modify the filtering at all. In these cases you may need to consider a different email provider, such as the encrypted email offerings from Hushmail and Proton Mail which tend to do much less filtering.
Adding Tryst to your safe senders list
Adding our email addresses or domain to your safe sender list can help ensure that you receive emails from us when we send them. This is especially helpful for preventing emails being sent to your spam folder, but may not solve issues where your mail provider is blocking emails before they get to your account (like the family-friendly filters we mention above). We've included a guide for adding Tryst to your safe sender list (sometimes called whitelist or allow list) in popular mail clients. For other clients, check out the Whitelist Guide which has step by step guides to many email providers and clients.
Tryst emails
We will send all of our automatic and support emails from one of the following two email addresses. You can also add the whole tryst.link domain in most clients if you want to safelist all Tryst emails regardless of address.
- hello@tryst.link (most emails)
- support@tryst.link (support notifications about your tickets with us)
- do-not-reply@tryst.link (Tryst messaging emails)
Remember that you may need to check your spam folder to find an email from Tryst to use for this process.
